Terms & Conditions
These terms and conditions apply to the hiring of our services:
Upon booking of any service with TaxisPlus, the customer must fully read and agree to all of our Terms and Conditions before travel commences. Booking any TaxisPlus service constitutes the full acceptance of all of terms & conditions.
TaxisPlus retains the right to change any prices advertised on this website and quotes provided may differ from stated, based on an individuals’ requirements. This applies to all fares including Airport Transfers.
1. Bookings
Please book as early possible in order that we may guarantee your travel. A deposit may be required of up to 50% of the total price quoted for minibus or chauffeur travel.
Any deposit paid will be fully refunded in the unlikely event that TaxisPlus cancels your booking due to operating difficulties. Howsoever caused, TaxisPlus cannot be held liable for cancellation of its services and this condition is accepted upon booking.
Where a deposit has been paid, TaxiPlus will refund the deposit if a booking is cancelled by the hirer with 48 hours notice. Where less than 48 hours notice is provided by the hirer then no refund will be given.
2. Punctuality Conditions
TaxisPlus cannot be held responsible for any consequential losses as a result of any unforeseen circumstances beyond our control that causes delay to the journey, for example but not limited to: traffic, breakdown of vehicle, driver illness, etc.
Upon booking, times and dates will be confirmed in writing by letter or email. Any changes must be advised immediately in writing - TaxisPlus will then issue a revised booking, and where necessary, a revised costing.
3. Conditions of Payment
If there is a remaining balance to be paid, this must be paid in cash to the driver prior to departure. If payment has accepted by cheque, the account holder’s address must be written on the reverse of the cheque and received by TaxisPlus at least seven working days prior to travel to allow for cheque clearance.
Where no deposit has been paid by the hirer, the full balance (including for return bookings) must be paid to the driver prior to travel commencing. Credit card payments are accepted only by prior agreement and subject to the Terms & Conditions set out below.
4. Credit or Debit Card Payments
We accept Mastercard, Visa, Solo, Switch, Delta and American Express.
(a) Credit/Debit Card Payments - Where the customer provides payment over the telephone, the original card must be produced and imprinted by the driver before travel commences.
(b) Please note that a handling charge of 6.5% will be added to all Credit/Debit card payments. This charge is paid directly to the Credit/Debit card handling company and is not an additional fee payable to TaxisPlus.
(c) Airport transfer payments – where a return airport booking is made, payment for the outward and return transfers must be paid in full prior to the start of the journey.
(d) Credit or Debit Card Refunds - TaxisPlus will make a refund against a hirer’s original Credit/Debit card providing that all the terms and conditions herein have been adhered to.
(e) Credit or Debit card payment is accepted by TaxisPlus at our own discretion and we reserve the right to refuse payment without providing a reason.
(f) Any and all fraudulent activities and attempts to misuse credit or debit cards will be reported to the Police.
4. General Minibus Hire Conditions
1) Payment for minibus hire must be made in cash to the driver before travel commences.
2) The price quoted is for one pick-up and one drop-off, any additional drop-offs will be charged according to the meter.
3) A non-smoking policy applies on all of our minibuses.
4) Alcohol consumption is strictly prohibited on the minibus.
5) No more than 15 minutes will be allowed by the driver for pick-up on the return journey.
6) Where there may be fewer passengers being carried on the return journey, no refunds will be given.
7) The hirer(s) are responsible for any damage caused by themselves or their passengers to any of the companies own or contracted vehicles.
8) No refunds will be given for part or one-way travel .
9) Minibus and MPV booking conditions: When booking a minibus (7 to 16 seats) the hirer accepts that they are hiring a "specific vehicle" which is a non-transferable booking. Should, for example, the hirer book a 16-seat minibus and then fewer than 16 passengers travel, TaxisPlus will still charge the agreed rate for the hire of the booked vehicle. No refunds will be given and any outstanding balance must be paid in full.
5. Smoking
A non-smoking policy is operated on all of TaxisPlus vehicles.
6. Food and Drink
Food must not be consumed by passengers in the vehicle. Alcoholic drinks are strictly prohibited.
7. Conduct and Behaviour
Abusive or threatening behaviour by passengers will not be tolerated by our drivers. TaxisPlus drivers, at their discretion, retain the right to refuse to carry a passenger(s) who exhibits inappropriate behaviour.
8. Damage
Where damage has been caused to the vehicle by the passengers, the hirer of the vehicle will be charged accordingly. Where there is to be loss-of-earnings for TaxisPlus due to damage caused, this will be charged to the hirer in addition to reparation costs.
Should the passenger(s) vomit or otherwise soil the vehicle, a valeting charge of £50 from the hirer(s) will apply.
9. Lost Personal Belongings
TaxisPlus can bear no responsibility for the loss of any passengers' personal belongings whilst travelling in a TaxisPlus vehicle. Passengers must ensure that all their luggages, bags and personal effects are in their possession upon arrival at their destination.
10. Other Terms & Conditions
(a) TaxisPlus may appoint one of its agents or sub-contract your booking to another third party operator where necessary. TaxisPlus and its agents do not guarantee any of the services advertised nor can we/they be held responsible for non-operation of those advertised services.
(b) Christmas and New Year bookings - both Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve bookings will be charged at twice the advertised rates and in all cases a 50% deposit must be paid for all minibus or multi-seat bookings. The above also relates to 26th December and 1st January for all advertised services.
(c) For airport transfers we include 60 minutes waiting time, from the time the flight lands, free of charge, thereafter a charge of 20p per minute waiting time will be payable to the driver. Where possible TaxisPlus and its agents will park away from the airport whilst awaiting pick-ups but should the free 60 minute waiting time above expire, then TaxisPlus or the appointed agent reserves the right to use the airports car parking facilities. All car parking charges incurred will then become payable by the customer/passengers in cash to the driver before travel commenses.
(d) All photographs and descriptions on this website are only a guide and are not binding.
(e) TaxisPlus reserves the right to revise any terms and conditions stated - any changes will come into effect immediately and may be without notice.
(f) It is a condition of any booking that the customer has fully read all of our terms and conditions and clarified any queries relating to them with us before travel commenses.
(g) The Law states that all passengers, without exception, must wear their SEATBELT where fitted unless there is a valid medical condition which prevents this. TaxisPlus and it's appointed agents will not accept liability for passengers who refuse to wear their seatbelt. All baby and children's seats including booster seats are the responsibility of the parent/guardian and must be fitted by that person. We may offer to assist with the fitting only if the factory supplied fitting instructions are available. Please note that we do not supply baby or childrens booster seats for use in any of our vehicles.
(h) There may be an additional charge if a passenger requests an unscheduled stop or asks the driver to deviate from his route to make any additional pick-ups other than those stipulated in the original booking (minimum £5.00 charge) or any other diversion not discussed at time of booking.
(i) All airport flight arrival times are monitored and there is no extra cost to the customer should a flight be delayed. However, any major delay of over three hours may result in passangers having to wait whilst TaxisPlus reschedule pickup times but in this case any waiting time will be kept to a minimum.
(j) If passengers miss their return flight to the U.K. the passenger agrees to contact us immediately. It is agreed that there will be no extra cost involved providing the passanger advises us at least two hours before the scheduled arrival of that flight. Where the passenger fails to advise TaxisPlus of their missed flight, a charge of £30 per hour plus expenses will be charged to the customer up to a maximum limit of £200. This charge is in addition to the fare paid.
(k) Waiting time from any UK collection address is limited to 10 minutes after the original booking time. TaxisPlus is based in Basildon, Essex. Inability to make contact with the client either by telephone or house contact will result in the driver and the hired vehicle being withdrawn and the hirer being held responsible for the full hire cost of that vehicle.
(l) We class luggage (cases) as standard size 30 x 24 inches approx. Our pricing structure depends on the size of the vehicle and number of passengers carried. The driver will have the right to refuse any passengers who have excess luggage which would result in the vehicle becoming unsafe whilst in transit. The passenger(s) should make sure that the correct sized vehicle is booked according to the guidelines set out and to notify us of any excess luggage.
The driver will kindly assist you to load your luggage if you prefer, but is not responsible for any damage to passengers' luggage.
(m) Airport transfer cancellations - A customer who decides to cancel a pre-booked airport transfer, must give us a minimum 12 hours notice. The customer/hirer agrees to pay the full one way cost to TaxisPlus for failure to give at least 24 hours cancellation notice.
(n) Booking a service provided by TaxisPlus or our agents constitutes acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
(o) Please note that a surcharge of £5.00 will be chargeable on all airport transfers between the hours of 11pm and 6am (23.00 hours and 06.00 hours). This charge applies where we pick up the customer from or after 11pm or before 6am from either or both a U.K. address or airport.
(p) Discounts - TaxisPlus may give discounts to regular customers (private or commercial) at our discretion. Any discount given will depend on regular use of our services and will not be binding in TaxisPlus accepting work from any private or commercial customer.
(q) Commercial Accounts - All commercial account users must have read and accepted all of the Terms and Conditions contained on this website and completed an account application.
(r) Commercial Account payment terms - All accounts are net 14 days from date of travel.
(s) TaxisPlus reserves the right to persue through whatever legal or lawfull procedures it deems necessary to recover all monies, fees and out of pocket expenses owed to either TaxisPlus or it's appointed agents and representatives.
(t) Airport Transfers - Where a booking has been accepted for a specified airport, TaxisPlus reserves the right to charge an additional fee where an aircraft has been diverted to an alternative airport. The following conditions will also apply:
(t) i) If TaxisPlus or an appointed agents vehicle has already arrived at the pick-up Airport for example Stansted and the aircraft is diverted to Gatwick, then we reserve the right to charge the full one way price in addition to that already paid to travel to Gatwick to pick up the customer. This price may be more then that specified to cover the additional distance from any given Airport.
(t) ii) If the customer decides to arrange another means of travel home other than a service provided by TaxisPlus, no refund will be given. This also applies if our driver has already arrived at the original airport and the customer arranges alternative transport home.
(t) iii) TaxisPlus reserves the right to refuse to pick up passengers from alternative airports where there are insufficient means to do so. This may include but not be limited to driver/vehicle availability or other bookings which conflict with such availability.
(t) iv) If TaxisPlus agree to pick up from an alternative airport then the quoted price must be paid to the driver in cash before travel commences. Any additional costs i.e. parking etc must also be paid by the customer prior to travel.
(t) v) Christmas Eve and New Years Eve bookings - All deposits and monies paid for these dates WILL NOT BE REFUNDABLE where the customer decides to cancel or alter a booking already made and accepted by TaxisPlus or it's appointed agents.
11. Force Majeure
1. Neither party shall be liable in damages or have the right to terminate this agreement for any delay or default in performing hereunder if such delay or default is caused by conditions beyond its control including, but not limited to Acts of God, Government restrictions (including the denial or cancellation of any export or other necessary license), wars, insurrections and/or any other cause beyond the reasonable control of the party whose performance is affected.
2. Neither party shall be liable for any failure or delay in performance under this Agreement (other than for delay in the payment of money due and payable hereunder) to the extent said failures or delays are proximately caused by causes beyond that party's reasonable control and occurring without its fault or negligence, including, without limitation, failure of suppliers, subcontractors, and carriers, or party to substantially meet its performance obligations under this agreement, provided that, as a condition to the claim of nonliability, the party experiencing the difficulty shall give the other prompt written notice, with full details following the occurrence of the cause relied upon. Dates by which performance obligations are scheduled to be met will be extended for a period of time equal to the time lost due to any delay so caused.
3. TaxisPlus or it's appointed agents failure to perform any of it's services as a result of conditions beyond its control such as, but not limited to, war, strikes, fires, floods, acts of God, governmental restrictions, power failures, or damage or destruction of any network facilities or servers, shall not be deemed a breach of any booking Agreement.
12. Courier Service Terms
TaxisPlus is a taxi service designed to carry small to medium packages, parcels and envelopes. We do not accept cargo on pallets or goods that require movement by forklift or other specialist lifting or moving equipment.
(1a) Where applicable the above passenger terms and conditions of carriage apply to our courier services.
(1b) Where a customer does not have a business account with TaxisPlus, payment in cash is required at point of pick-up.
(1c) Customers are advised to insure valuable items of cargo as TaxisPlus and its appointed agents accept no liability for any damage or loss to any cargo transported.
(2a) Contents disclosure - The customer is required to disclose the general content of items to be transported. We do not accept items deemed to be hazardous or dangerous or require specialist transportation.
(2b) All items to be transported must be properly packaged or boxed, and clearly addressed.
(2c) In all cases, the size and weight of each box, parcel or packet etc, must be clearly labeled and disclosed to us when placing a courier order.
(2d) It is the responsibility of the Company or person dispatching items for transport that they ensure those items are correct in quantity, size and weight. We reserve the right to either refuse or re-quote for items not included in the original order. The customer must pay for any additional packages or weight in cash prior to despatch.
(3a) TaxisPlus (Basildon, Essex) or its appointed agents cannot be held responsible for any consequential losses as a result of any unforseen circumstances beyond our control, causing delay to the journey, such as traffic, breakdown of vehicle, etc.
(3b) There is a cut off time of 5pm (17.00 hours) for next day deliveries.
(3c) For same day deliveries the cut off time will be 11.30am or subject to distance and vehicle availability.
(4a) Non Delivery - It is the responsibility of the sender to ensure that packages are correctly addressed and that the recipient is available to accept delivery on the day and time stipulated. If we cannot make delivery all items will be returned to sender and charged as if delivery had taken place. In most cases we will first attempt to contact the sender for advice. Additional charges may be imposed for alternative re-delivery to another address.
(4b) Acceptance of Terms & Conditions - By using our courier service it is deemed that you have read, understood and accepted all of our Terms and Conditions set out on this page.
(4c) Disputes - Any disputes, comments or complaints about our courier or other services must be made in writing or E-Mailed to us within one week of booking.
